Hogs Game & Lunch Date

Gabe and I went to the hog game on Saturday. I have never liked sports, especially football. However, I always enjoy going to Fayetteville for the good food and shopping. I never really go for the game. I know, I know! Well, this Saturday we ate at Mama Z's in Tontitown. (right outside of Fayetteville) Mama Z's is an Italian cafe' with homeade pasta, sauce, rolls, and italian dressing. Yes, it's ALL made from scratch...by real Italians. It is to die for! After lunch we headed to the mall for a quick shopping spree. Then, it was time for the game...normally my least favorite part.
However, the game was so good that I actually got into it. It was a great game. I don't understand all of the details of football, but I get the main point. And it was intense. I'm so sad that they didn't win, but it was a fun game to be a part of. I also enjoyed the day with just my husband and I. We actually got to have real conversations. Thanks Grandma, Grandpa, Grammy, and Poppa for watching the kids! I treasure any time I can get alone with Gabe these days.
This little girl looked cute as a bug today. This outfit is one of my garage sale finds. Madison loves to put q-tips in her ears. She has watched me clean out my ears a lot, I guess. I know this is very dangerous and I don't let her run around like this, but it's cute for a second.
The two babies and I headed to McAlister's for lunch with a couple other stay at home moms. We just got a McAlister's about a week ago and I had to try it out. My favorite thing is their sweet tea. I also love their club sandwich and spuds. Lunch was a circus as always, but we wouldn't have it any other way...or would we? ;)

Can't wait until our next lunch date!

1 Month & 19 Months

I can't believe it's time to start this again... Logan turned one month old on the 23rd. He is getting so big! He is starting to get chunky. He just feels like a bigger baby.
You can see his frog belly pooching out in this pic. He's starting to outgrow several of his newborn onesies and outfits. I've gotten out some 0-3 month outfits. Some fit, but most are still too big.
Isn't he a handsome little man?
So, what is Logan up to these days???
*Just moved up to a size 1 diaper yesterday.
*Eats every 2 hours.
*Eats 2-3 times during the night.
*Naps less during the day now. Has good nights and bad nights. Hard to get back to sleep at night depending on the night.
*Making more eye contact/looks around.
*Loves pacifier.
*Likes bouncy seat.
*Only likes swing occasionally.
*Cries only when hungry or discontent.
*Has little moans/whines that are so adorable.
*Likes to be rocked.
*Sleeps on back or stomach.
*Good baby!!!
*Not sure how much he weighs currently, but weighed around 9 lbs at 2 week check-up.
Madison turned 19 Months old on the 19th
What is she up to these days??? WAY TOO MUCH!
This is her new hobby. She loves to climb...anywhere, but especially onto her rocker and where she is able to stand and play with the beaded fringe on her lamp. She has always been gentle with the lamp until today. She pulled off one strand of the beaded fringe and showed me the beads. I thought I was going to have to wring her neck.
She also has a new addition...her baby doll. Lately when I have picked her up from church nursery, she always has a doll in her arms so I decided it was time to upgrade to a real baby doll. She had one of the soft beginner dolls, but it wasn't doing the job, so I bought her one with a bottle, sippie cup, and a magnetic paci that sticks to the baby doll's mouth. She LOVES it. It helps me out while I'm taking care of Logan too, because I'll tell her that I'm feeding my baby and she needs to feed hers!
It's so cute listening to her talk to her baby. She says, "it's okay." It makes me feel proud. It's amazing that she doesn't spank her baby and raise her voice at her baby like I often do with her, but instead she loves that little baby to death. I'm so thankful that Madison overlooks my failures and impatience. She seems to only remember the good.
Madison is busy as a bee these days. She gets into everything and it drives me nuts. It's impossible to keep a perfect house. She hasn't been fond of Mother's Day Out or church nursery since Logan's arrival, but just this week she has been happy at drop-off and pick-up time! Thank you, Lord. I want her to have fun with her little friends and she is.
Happy Birthday, babies! We love you so much.

Back to Church

Momma & the babies
This past Sunday we headed back to church...as a family of now 4! Logan did great in the nursery. The nursery ladies were ready for him to wake up in his carseat so they could take him out and get in some holding time.

Daddy & the babies- check out Logan's high tops!

Gabe dropped me off at the front door of the church so I could sing in the choir and he took the two kids to the nursery by himself...a 1st for him. He said they made it just fine. :) I thought I should probably help him, but then again... I figured it would be good for him to see what it's like to tote these two around. It's no easy task! Quite exhausting!

Madison wore this adorable dress to church that I got at a garage sale from a girl who lives a few blocks away from us. I just happened to pass by the sale as I was dropping Madison off at her Poppa's house for some Friday morning play time. I found several boutique dresses for just a couple of dollars a piece. I love a great deal!

Woo Pig & 19 Months

go hogs go!
Dad watching the game Saturday on t.v. He said he was tired when the game ended. Watching those hogs wears a person out.
I wore my cheerleading uniform in honor of the hogs. I think they won because I looked so darn cute.
Givin' Logan a little love.
Way to go, HOGS!

Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend

Madison is such a girly, girl! (Thank you, Lord!) She LOVES shoes, purses, and jewelry. I keep some of my jewelry in a drawer in the end table next to my bed and she loves to go through it and pull it all out and put it on. Most of it is costume jewelry that I don't care about, but I did have to pull out a few valuables the other day and find a new home for them. Notice the face Madison is making in this picture. This is the face she makes when you tell her to say "cheese." Looks like she has a fake smile just like her mother! Poor her!
Jewelry just makes a girl happy!
Trying to get it layered just right.
Oops. There's a hoop earring stuck on my necklace.
"CHEESE!!!"
"CHEEEEEEEEEEESE!!!!"
Last, but not least, here is an updated pic of my little boy. His cheeks have become quite healthy these days. He likes to eat! Logan is still such a good baby. He still sleeps a lot during the day and does okay at night as well. He eats about 3 times a night. I'm tired, but usually do not take naps during the day. Tomorrow might be the exception since it's Friday!
my little angel baby...

2 Weeks

My two babies!
We are slowly adjusting to life with two little ones.
As you can see, Madison loves to hug on her baby brother.
She just doesn't know when to let go...
Giving a little pat on the head!
1st real bath- wasn't too thrilled about it. His umbilical cord fell off at exactly 2 weeks.
Logan Carter
Dressed and ready to go to 1st doctor's appointment for his 2 week check-up!
He weighs 8 lbs, 14.2 oz and everything looks good!
Sigh! Life with two IS harder than life with one. I'm NOT going to pretend to be super mom. I DO NOT have it all together. As much as I'd love for everyone to think I do...I DON'T! I get so frustrated at times and have to just take a deep breath and chill. Lord, please show me how to love and care for two little ones.
Madison is still in the process of adjusting to life with a baby brother. It's hard for her, as it is for me too. I know I don't handle every situation well. Hopefully, we will learn together how to survive life as family of four!

1st Day of MDO 2010/2011

Madison is now in the Butterflies class at Mother's Day Out. She and several of her friends skipped a class and went right on up to the big kids class. They were required to have a nap mat this year. Us mothers were really worried that our babies were too small for nap mats, but their teacher said they all did really well. She said Madison's feet were on her mat, but that's about it. I guess she didn't mind the carpet! Ha! Little Miss Independent!
I thought Madison's nap mat turned out ADORABLE! I love the patchwork that the seamstress did. So cute! This will last her until she goes off to Kindergarten.
We didn't get any pics before MDO because we picked up the mat on our way to the church, but we did take some pics afterwards. Here is Madison showing me how you "nap." I think she likes her nap mat pretty well. The pillow is soo soft!
My friend, Megon, introduced these yummy kiddo treats to me a while ago...YOGO BITS! Madison loves them. They are yogurt covered fruit bits. You can find them next to the fruit snacks. Madison thinks they are candy!
I have several things to blog about from last week...a play date, along with cute pics of bubba and sissy. I'll get to that later on this week.
Madison had a blast camping with her Grandma and Grandpa this past weekend holiday. She got home late yesterday afternoon. It was so nice for her to get to have fun with other kids/families and to get to enjoy being outside in the beautiful weather. It was also quite relaxing for Mom & Dad back at home. :) Logan is so low-key. It was nice to just focus on one baby for a while. But, she's (Madison) back folks and we've sprung back into high-key action! :) It was fun while it lasted!

OBU BlogAbout

Today is OBU BlogAbout day. I graduated from Ouachita in December of 2005 with a BME in Choral Music Education. I loved going to school at Ouachita and made so many great friendships there. It used to be my dream to be a christian singer, so...I wanted to go to a Christian school that had a great music program. Point of Grace went to OBU and they were one of the reasons I wanted to go there as well.

During my first semester, I realized that my "dream" was not exactly reality and wasn't really what I wanted. I changed my major from Vocal Performance to Music Education. Best choice I ever made!

Things I enjoyed at Ouachita...

TIGER TUNES
OUACHITA SINGERS
tour to China
tour to Germany
TRI CHI
PC '02
TWIRP WEEK w/pledge sisters
Barn Bash
I did not get my MRS. degree at OBU, but I became reacquainted with the love of my life after I returned home to Russellville.
And who knows? Maybe this little girl will want to become a tiger someday... Her daddy hopes not! Ha! OBU tuition is sky high!

Date Night

This morning I took Logan to the doctor. All day yesterday and last night he has sounded like he has drainage in his nose & throat. It seemed like he was choking on his milk and having trouble keeping it down and I wanted to make sure he didn't have any serious problems since he is so young and it's a holiday weekend. Turns out everything is fine. The doc said he probably is having a little acid reflux. He said to keep him upright while nursing him and to try giving him a few saline nose drops. Poor thing. He sounds all stuffy and congested, but hopefully it won't last long. He doesn't seem to be fussy, so I guess it doesn't bother him too bad.

Gabe, Logan, and I had a little date tonight. We ate at Mike's Place in Conway. (my favorite!) Logan was a perfect little angel. It's crazy how laid back he is. Madison was never this easy! He slept all through dinner while Gabe and I enjoyed real adult conversation and food! Looking forward to a few more days of rest and relaxation! Need to get some housework done around here before little munchkin returns. We hear she is having a blast camping and getting LOTS of attention!

A Camping She Will Go...

This morning I took the babies for a stroll in the neighborhood. The weather was gorgeous. It was cool, breezy, and NOT humid! It actually felt like Fall! What a beautiful day. Thank you, Lord. Isn't it amazing what the weather does to your mood?

Madison left this afternoon to go camping with Grandma & Grandpa at Lake Ouachita. She was extremely moody earlier today, but cheered up just before Grandma arrived to pick her up! I think she will have a great weekend. She loves the outdoors, so camping is right up her alley!

OBU is having their first BlogAbout on Monday, September 6th. If you went to OBU, be sure and blog about it on Monday. You can also email motll@obu.edu to have your blog listed on OBU's website. What a great way to reconnect with old friends and make some new ones.

I've been looking forward to this weekend all week long. I plan on catching up on some housework, resting, hanging out with Gabe, and maybe doing a little shopping with my baby boy.

Hope you have a GREAT Labor Day weekend!
