ENT Appointment

Well, it's been a while... sometimes I just get in blogger's rut or just don't have a lot to say! Madison has struggled with an ear infection for at least a month now. This is only her second one, but she just cannot seem to get rid of this one. We are on the last antiobiotic possible right now. It doesn't seem to be helping and Madison HATES to take it. She has to take 2 teaspoons three times a day! WOW! That's a lot of medicine. It tastes really bad, so I chose to have the pharmacist add a flavor in, which dilluted the medicine. That is why she has to take 2 teaspoons instead of 1 teaspoon three times a day. I have found that it is much easier to just add the medicine in with her bottle and she seems to drink it up just fine.

Our appointment with the ENT is schedule for this Tuesday afternoon. Gabe and I are both pretty sure she still has her earache because her balance is off and she's still rubbing her left ear. We're afraid the result is going to have to be tubes. I've had a very negative attitude towards tubes since the beginning...mainly because I know the hassel that is involved with having to put cotton balls or plugs in their ears to keep the water out, but mostly because I'm too scared to let her go through with the whole procedure. Several of my friends' babies have had to had tubes put in, but it's different when it's your baby. How do you hand her over to the doctor? It still tears me up to think about it, but I think Gabe and I are both to the point that we just want her to feel better. She's had this infection for way too long and we're ready for her to feel like herself again.

Other than that, we haven't been up to much lately. Gabe has continued training for the marathon and it's next weekend. We are going down to cheer him on! I know that he will do great, especially when he sees his biggest LITTLE cheerleader cheering him on!

Gabe has also stayed extremely busy with his online classes. He's working toward his doctorate in Physical Therapy and it is really consuming a lot of time. He will be finished a little after baby #2 is born and we are both SO READY!!!

It seems like life never slows down...

Happy Birthday Dear Madison!

Our first baby girl, Madison Grace, turned one year old today! Time really does fly. Someone asked me today if I was sad because she turned one. I hadn't really thought about it, but I'm not really sad. I'm not ready for her to be a big girl, but it's nice that she's able to do more and more on her own. I look forward to the day that she is my "big helper," because she will be just that. She can tell her stuffed animals off pretty well. I have no doubt that she will be able to "be in charge." We may go round and round over this!

As you can tell, we (momma) went with a zebra and pink birthday theme. I wasn't real impressed with how the cake turned out, but it looked cute with all of the other zebra decor.

Madison had a great time at her birthday party. We had a great crowd...all of our in-town family, along with some of our closest friends that have babies around Madison's age. Thanks to all of you for celebrating Madison's 1st birthday with us. It is one we will always remember.

Madison usually gets a little fussy, but she did not fuss at all at her party. I think she enjoyed the attention, playing with all of the other babies, and lovin' from her grandparents and other family members.

This morning our MOMs group met. (Mothers of Miracles) I've blogged about this group before, but it is a group of mothers of preschoolers. We meet for 2.5 hours (while our kiddos are in the nursery) and have a guest speaker/devotion, craft time, helpful parenting hints, and end with a girly lunch. It's just a great time to get together with other moms and be encouraged and refreshed. We had a good group this morning and a great time. We made coasters for our craft. I made these to go in Madison's room.(Probably will only put one in her room.) Crafts stress me out because I want whatever I'm doing to turn out perfect. I could not get my coasters perfect, so I finally decided to just settle for less the the best. It was hard, but I made it through!
We had two guest speakers who both have had very different journeys in life. One has been married for 50 years and the other has been married around 30 years total, but has been married three times. They spoke about marriage and brought up three important aspects of marriage: Jesus, Trust, & Money. They both agreed that these three things are vital in marriages today. This was brought up, but I have also wondered myself how marriages last when husband & wife do not know the Lord. I have learned that marriage, along with almost everything else in life, is about putting the other person first.
My friend, Megon, (Mrs. Bagby) took pictures during our MOMs meeting. Here is a picture of the group that attended today. There were several that attended last month that were not able to attend today, and we had several new faces today that did not attend last month. Look at all of the possible accountability partners and encouragers! If you'd like to see more pics from the MOMs meeting, you can check out our MOMs blog at mothersofmiracles.blogspot.com. The pics are not up yet though, so give me a couple of days!

I didn't mention this earlier, but I had to take Madison back to the doctor today. She has been running high fever since Tuesday! It turns out she still has an ear infection in her left ear. She got a shot (on her birthday!) and hopefully that will help.

Happy Birthday, baby. We love you!

Love, Mom & Dad

Baking Cookies with Grandma

Grandma's little helper- Madison baked cookies with Grandma this past Saturday. It looks like she really enjoyed licking the spoon!
Oops, I dropped an egg!

This afternoon, Madison and I ventured out to Wal-Mart to pick up all of the groceries we need for her birthday party this weekend. She was so good in the store...which is very unusual. ;) I guess she knew we were buying things for her party! I can't wait to start making all of the food preparations. We are going to eat well!

Broken Record

I took Madison to the doctor today to see if she still had an ear infection. She went in about 1 1/2- 2 weeks ago, but has been rubbing her ears a lot lately and has been really fussy at bedtime. Sure enough...she still has her ear infection. The doctor gave us some new medicine and I think we're good to go. The best part about the appointment??? We were in and out in 15 minutes. If you are from around her, you know that it usually takes 1 1/2 - 2 hours to get in and out of the doctor. Yea for snow days...the clinic wasn't very busy.

On another note, boo for snow days because we need our clinic to be busy. The roads are clear and the sun has been out. Keep your appointment with RVT! :)

Sports Sunday & Snowy Monday

Yesterday at church, all of the preschoolers were to dress up in their favorite sports team attire. Well, we took a little Razorback cheerleader to church and boy did she look cute! Here she is after church with her Daddy. He LOVES the hogs, but loves his little Razorback cheerleader even more!
Woo Pig Sooie!

Who even knew it was going to snow this morning? Not I! We woke up to 3-4 inches of snow and it has been snowing ever since! I went outside to take some pics and my neighbor said we were up to 6 inches already. It's still snowing steadily. I think it's so pretty. I've enjoyed watching it snow out the window.
You can really tell how much it has snowed by looking at these chairs.

Surprise! You've Got Mail...

Madison received two adorable little sun dresses (in her favorite colors, of course), along with a valentine, this afternoon in the mail. Her package was from her Me Mommie and Big Daddy (my grandma and grandpa.) They have not gotten to meet Madison yet, but send her nice little packages every now and then. I know they are just dying to meet her. Big Daddy has had knee surgery recently and has not been able to travel. We will have to make a special trip to TX this summer to see them. By then, I will be as big as a barn. Lovely!

Madison-opening up her cards...one for her birthday and one for Valentine's Day.
Madison-reading her birthday card for her 1st birthday coming up on the 19th.

I think this pictures is so cute because she's smiling as she's looking at the card.

Madison-modeling her new dress. Maybe spring will hurry! She's getting to be such a big girl. So pretty!
My little petunia!

Madison with her bunny
Madison loves to love on her stuffed animals. She can just go right on lovin' them, because that's the closest she'll ever get to lovin' on an animal. Ha! (FYI-I HATE animals.) She also has a baby doll that she enjoys holding and loving, but her FAVORITE stuffed animal is her puppy. She will carry that thing all throughout the house. "Love, Love."

Wordless Wednesday
