Oh, be careful little lips what you say
I've been thinking about what I wanted to say in this post and this song just came to my mind. I remember singing this song as a little child. The words are oh, so true! Isn't it neat how childrens' songs have such good and true words and stay in your heart forever!
Well, I have a confession to make. I say "bad words." Not cuss words, but "bad words" for kids. Most of my close friends' kids are probably not to this stage yet, but who knows maybe they are. My kid is a parrot. A genius parrot at that! What comes out of my mouth, comes out of her mouth. This week she said dang it! And she's said shut up! And she's said gosh! Gosh isn't really a bad word, but it's close to taking the Lord's name in vain so I've taught her not to say it. Well, problem is... I say these words. I don't say shut up very often, but when I'm stressed and frazzled to the limit and about to pop, I admit...I say it. Now, dang it and gosh are MY words! I say them all the time and really have to watch myself around Madison.
Oh, be careful little lips what you say.
Oh, be careful little lips what you say.
For the Father up above is looking down in love,
Oh, be careful little lips what you say.
When Madison says one of the words I tell her that it's a bad word and we are not supposed to say it. I confess that Momma says this word sometimes and she shouldn't. It's just so hard!!! Anyone out there relate?

That is so sweet although I can hardly make out what she says. You should teach Madison the Little Color Song that I think I taught you when you were littl; plus the "Ice Cream Song"... do you remembedr how we would sit in the back seat and we would sing that and when it came to the part where "that mean old dog bit me right where I sit down".. You would reach to your little hiney and poke your finger over and over while you were singing it.. so many sweet memories.
