Food Favorites

Chicken Cordon Bleu is a new recipe I tried out for dinner this week. Go to skinnytaste.com for the recipe. Simply type in Chicken Cordon Bleu in the search bar. For some reason, I am not able to copy and paste these recipes onto my blog. And now for my newest addiciton...LOVE, LOVE, LOOOOVE these!!!

I found this off brand (Private Selection) at Kroger and only the Kroger brand has a "light" version of these drinks. They taste the same and they are soo good. I've been drinking about 2 a day. They are my new "coke." I've only had about 3 or 4 cokes in the past 9 weeks. That's a HUGE deal for me. Anyways, this is kind of a dessert for me. I like to have one around breakfast time and one later on in the day. Check. Them. Out!

And now, for some smoothie talk. Gabe and I now have a smoothie every night after dinner. Here's what we've had so far. Each recipe literally makes almost a large sonic cup full. All one serving!

Chocolate Banana Smoothie

  • 1/2 banana

  • 2 tbsp sugar-free instant chocolate pudding mix

  • 1 tsp vanilla

  • 1 cup milk

  • 1 cup ice

  • Mix in blender on high until well blended. Top with FF Ready Whip. 3 pts. (tastes similar to a lighter version of a Wendy's Frosty.)

Strawberry Kiwi OR Strawberry Banana Smoothie

  • 6 oz. WW amaretto cheesecake yogurt

  • 5 strawberries

  • 1 kiwi (or 1/2 banana if making banana smoothie)

  • 1 cup ice

  • Mix in blender on high until well blended. Top with FF Ready Whip.

  • 2 pts.

Very Blueberry Smoothie

  • 3/4 cup blueberries

  • 1 cup ice

  • 1/2 cup skim milk

  • 6 oz. WW blueberry yogurt

  • Mix in blender on high until well blended. Top with FF Ready Whip.

  • 3 pts.

My current WW weight loss total is 16 pounds! I didn't share last week because I gained, but I'll go ahead and share because I know that gaining is only natural and the real deal. I gained 3 pounds last week and lost 5 pounds this week.

(*Note: I always run right before my weigh-in, however, last week I ran in the morning instead of right before my meeting. So, I gained 3 pounds. Running right before a weigh-in normally knocks off about 2 lbs. for me. So, accurately speaking, I gained 1 pound last week and lost 3 lbs. this week.)

Last week is our last WW meeting. I'm glad because I'm really tired of driving to Dover. I do, however, plan on continuing the WW lifestyle. I really think it is a lifestyle that I will strive to live by for the rest of my life. That doesn't mean that I do not love food or love to eat anymore. I DO! Very much, so. However, I've learned about healthy/non-healthy food, portion control, and balance. It's all about balance!
