Party at the Park

Happy 2nd Birthday, Beckett!

We went to the church playground for one of Madison's good friend's birthday party today. Beckett is quite fond of Madison and calls her "Mase." It's pretty cute. He knows that I'm her mom and starts saying "Mase" whenever he sees me.
Madison wore sandals to the playground and kept getting rocks in her shoe. She kept taking off her shoes to get the rocks out, but didn't want to leave her shoes off because the rocks hurt her feet and were cold. It was a little chilly out this morning.

"But, Mom...Madison took her shoes off. Why can't I?"

Add Image My little Monkey- can't believe she climbed this by herself today. She is getting so big. The last time we were at this playground she needed my help.

What does the duck say?

Hope you had a super birthday, Beckett!

Easter 2011

Well, I'm only a whole week late posting about Easter. Geez! This Easter was a fun one for me. I learned how to make super cute Easter baskets at a ladies night out we recently had at church. I was pretty pumped about making each of the kids a basket out of a galvanized bucket. But, MAN! They took some time! I spent about 2-2.5 hours on each one. It was a little difficult getting the fabric around the bucket since the buckets were wider around the top than on the bottom. I actually used needle & thread to make ruffles and a flower for Madison's bucket.

I thought Logan's turned out pretty darn cute for a boy's bucket! You can't see the ribbon tied on the handle in this pic, but you can see it in the other pictures. I wanted to do a razorback bucket, but couldn't find any Hog material. Guess I'll just save that for boy or girl #2 later on down the road...

Here's Madison on Easter morning right after she woke up. She went straight to Bubba's basket.

My cuties all dressed up in their gingham attire on Easter morning. Ready to head out the door for church.

After church, we had lunch at the Freyaldenhoven's. It was delicious as always.

The Easter bunny brought each of the kids a well-stocked basket full of candy to Grammy and Poppa's house. Momma has paid for it dearly. Those pounds are slowly finding their way back to Momma's tummy!

The kids had an easter egg hunt inside the house since it was raining outside. Madison didn't quite get the concept. She did manage to get a few eggs, but it was tough since her cousin William was super fast and got the concept of the game quite well!

Bringing her goodies to her basket...

Lucky William!

Thank you, Jesus, for paying the price for my sin. May I never forget the torment you went through so that I might be saved.

Mommy Makeover...and the fun begins!

It has been too long since I last posted...I know. I'm faithful in reading my favorite blogs daily, but I most of the time I just don't feel like blogging! Uploading the pics, retelling the stories, ugh! Just never feel like doing it. But, I want the memories recorded. So here goes.

I found out last Tuesday afternoon that I won the St. Mary's New Mommy Makeover. I was thrilled. On Thursday, the fun began. They called me Thursday morning after I had dropped off the kids at MDO and wanted me to start my pampering that day. They said everthing had to be done by Tuesday at noon, which was the deadline for the About Magazine. They wanted pics of me doing everthing, so it all needed to be done by then. They wanted me to do my massage and facial that day...I agreed. We proceeded to schedule everything out over the phone. I was going to do as much as I could on Thursday while my kids were at MDO, a bunch on Saturday so Gabe could take care of the kids, and then my photo shoot on Monday. (My dad had agreed to come help me with the kids.) Just before I got off the phone with them I informed them about the rash. Yes, THE rash.

Me and rashes go way back. We go together like salt and pepper. I was diagnosed with a very rare rash my senior year of high school that went up to my face. It was bad and I felt ugly. Well, this rash was due to an allergic reaction to a new shaving gel. It was mostly on my legs, but had spread all over my body. Everywhere except for on my face. Thank goodness! So, I hated to break this news to the ladies I was on the phone with, but I told them it would probably be better if I had my massage/facial on another day. They understood and said we could just stage it and do the real deal later. Whew!

So, Thursday I shopped for my outfit, jewelry, shoes, purse, and kids' outfits at Belk. They threw in kids' outfits last minute. Yay! Belk was soo generous. I love the outfit that I picked out. You can kind of see it in the pic above. (which is us at Italian Gardens) On Saturday, we staged the massage/facial, got my hair done at The Mirage, got my make up done at Clinique in Belks, and did my photo shoot with Steve Newby, and then had my dinner date at Italian Gardens that night with Gabe.

Lee Ann from Lee Ann's jewelry presented this baby bracelet to me at dinner. It's very pretty. They said to bring it in this week and they will engrave it with Logan's name and birthday.

Okay, back to the photo shoot. It was my favorite part of the makeover. I had fun! Steve did great and I pretended to be a model. It's tough work tryin' to do all those poses, but we got some great shots and I can't wait to show!

Dinner at I.G. was great, as always. I love Italian Gardens. The best part was the adult conversation with Gabe, of course. Oh, and no kids. Zeta Tau Alpha provided free babysitting. The day was fun, but packed and we were both pooped by the end of the day. Glad I'm done being "made over!

Mommy Makeover!

A few weeks ago, I entered a Mommy Makeover Contest held by our local hospital, St. Mary's Regional Medical Center. You had to have delivered a baby at St. Mary's within a certain couple of months in the past year. Logan was born during that time frame, so I decided to go ahead and give it a shot. You had to write up a story about yourself and experience with the hospital. The contest was held on facebook. It was kind of a PR thing. You were to get people to vote for your story on the hospital's new facebook page and the winners would later be judged according to their story and number of votes. So, I got busy and asked a LOT of friends on facebook for votes. If you voted, thank you!!! The hospital just announced the winners today. 6 moms received prize packages and I won the ultimate prize package. You can read below to see what I won. I'm thrilled! Doesn't every mother recieve this kind of pampering?!!

You'll experience the ultimate head-to-toe makeover from Belk. Your very own personal shopper will accompany you as you select from the latest in spring and summer fashions, all suited to your individual style. Make-up, clothing, shoes, purse, and accessories...who could ask for anything more? You can! Russellville photographer Steve Newby will treat the "NEW" you to a professional shoot to be featured in the May issue ABOUT magazine. A delicious dinner for two! You and your sweetheart will dine at Russellville's "most romantic" resturant, Italian Gardens. Cathy's Flowers and Gifts will dress your table with extravagant linens, chair covers, candlelight, an amazing bouquet of flowers, tempting chocolates, and a long stem rose. Lee Ann's fine jewelry will present you with a beautiful sterling silver cable-link bracelet with a "Baby Feet" charm in sterling silving and 14k yellow gold. Before your night on the town, relax and rejuvenate at The Mirage as you indulge in a 1-hour massage, facial, and shampoo, cut, and style. If needed, childcare for your date night will be provided by members of ATU Zeta Tau Alpha women's fraternity. After your night out, you'll appreciate the 30-day pass and fitness assessment from St. Mary's Fitness Center. Just so your husband won't feel left out, consider sharing your St. Mary's duffle bag with him!

Could the treats get any better? Can't wait to enjoy! Thanks for voting, friends! (And sorry for nagging!) ;)

Lifetime Member

This past Thursday night we had our last WW meeting. The course was 10 weeks long. I'm glad the meetings are over with, because the drive to Dover was getting to be a little much. I lost 2.5 pounds this past week. My total weight lost throughout the 10 week course was 18.5 pounds! I'm also now a lifetime member of WW. I had to meet a certain goal (not sure exactly how that number was formed, but my WW leader picked it) and as long as I don't gain more than 2 pounds over that number I will stay a lifetime member. If you do go over, you just have to get back down in order to have the lifetime membership. Of course, I'm still going at it. I'm very much a goal achiever and competitive person so it's been kind of fun for me. Challenging, but fun. Some people ask me what "number" I want to get down to. There really isn't a number. I just know how I want to look. Gabe and I are going on a vacay to Hawaii this summer and I very much plan on wearing a binkini. So, there's your answer. I wanna look GREAT in my bikini! :)

Over the River & Through the Woods...

...to Grandma & Grandpa's house we go!

(a few old pics)
Time spent at Grandma & Grandpa's house would not be complete if a little sugar was not involved!
AHH! BLUE TONGUES!!! Poor Grandma & Grandpa. Madison never wants to go inside! Look at those eyes! Sweet & SPICY! Lovin' some time on the swing set. Large and in charge-this Barbie jeep was left at one of our rental houses. We call it the ghetto Barbie jeep. It has a few cracks in the body, but works like a charm. Even has a radio!

(Pics from yesterday)

Madison and Logan went home with Grandma after work and Mom & Dad went on a date! We picked them up after dinner.)

Sweet & Innocent

Ha! Yeah, right!

Talking...her favorite pastime! Sweet Smile
CHEESE!!!

Good times are had over the river & through the woods.
